Van Eaton Galleries in Sherman Oaks, CA (Los Angeles) will present When Good Toons Go Bad: Villains of Animation on Saturday, November 15^th, 6:00pm to 10:00pm at 13613 Ventura Blvd, Sherman Oaks CA 91423. The show will be a tribute to all the villains from animated films and cartoons. The show will feature original artwork by more than 100 artists, animators, illustrators and designers. The show includes animators from studios such as Walt Disney, DreamWorks, Warner Bros, Cartoon Network, and Fox, just to name a few.

The exhibit will feature works in a variety of media including painting, sculpture, fabric & digital art. Participating artists include award winning animator Andreas Deja (The Little Mermaid, Beauty and The Beast, The Lion King), Emmy Award winning animator/director James T. Walker (Samurai Jack, DC’s Justice League, Super Friends, The Transformers). The show will also feature Johnny Daniels of “Daniels Woodland”. Johnny and his twin brother Ron star in the Animal Planet reality series “Redwood Kings”. Johnny’s contribution to the show will be a large wooden sculpture carved with a chainsaw! The exhibit is free and open to the public.

Dwayne Harris (Black Powder, Amnesia) serves up the post apocalyptic action thriller Dangerous Curves. Frank Forte and Tim Vigil (Faust, Gothic Knights) drops a sick and twisted tale entitled Allison, David Hartman (Phantasm V, Transformers:Prime) delivers a short horror story entitled Pond Scum where hillbillies hunt for an illusive bog creature.  Hilary Barta churns up an EC-styled sci-fi/horror piece called Evaluation, Robert S. “I’m excited to have been able to put together one of my favorite magazines,” explains guest editor Frank Forte, “everyone worked really heard to deliver an issue of Heavy Metal that will be sure to please fans old and new.”

David Hartman took a break from directing Phantasm V: Ravager to complete an all-new 4-page horror story entitled Pond Scum for the issue. David says, "I grew up with Heavy Metal. I would study the art in them for hours upon hours and there was nothing else like it out there. It was a big part of my childhood and I am honored to be a part of the magazine now."

Dwayne Harris, who recently optioned his graphic novel Amnesia (Arcana) to Sony, completed the short story Dangerous Curves for this issue.  Dwayne explains, “I’m thrilled to be in Heavy Metal.  In "Dangerous Curves", a Mad-Max flavored story, the twists aren't just in the road.”

When asked for a quote, the hard working Steve Mannion said only, “I want to be in that book!”

Adult Swim announced today that King Star King, a new original animated series, will premiere all six episodes at once exclusively online on AdultSwim.com on Sunday, June 15. Adventurous fans will also have the chance to win an original piece of art from series creator JJ Villard.

King Star King follows the exploits of King Star King, a well-muscled fry cook/space prince and his group of strange heroes: Pooza the perverted duck wizard, Gurbles the bear and Hank Waffles, a living waffle-headed mascot. Watch as they travel through the vast and unstable Gigantiverse in their beloved waffle restaurant, The Waffle Zone. See their unending psychotic and hallucinatory quest to help good things and kill bad things. 

From creator JJ Villard (Shrek 3, Shrek 4) and executive producer Tommy Blacha (Metalocalypse), King Star King is produced by Titmouse, Inc. (Metalocalypse, The Venture Bros., China, IL, Superjail!).
